You shouldn't have to pay taxes on it if you roll it into a qualified program.Mystihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17496508600320205581noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7769573624836797090.post-45926766973156049412012-01-07T16:18:21.195-06:002012-01-07T16:18:21.195-06:00Roll to a Roth, once Credit card debt is paid off ...Roll to a Roth, once Credit card debt is paid off start contributing to this regularly. Search roll over 401k on irs.gov

If you decide to take the money - they may withhold 20% - but you will owe the IRS 10% penalty plus pay tax on the money as income in 2012. So 20% may be enough or you may still have to pay MORE to the IRS in 2013 when you do the 2012 taxes.

I strongly recommend rolling the full amount into an IRA - it isn't much - but it is something for your future.SAKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12897399135827762683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7769573624836797090.post-90032303158998926592012-01-07T15:15:12.689-06:002012-01-07T15:15:12.689-06:00I see you have a small amount in your EF, but I ca...I see you have a small amount in your EF, but I can't tell how much.
